La Gazzetta dello Sport says three clubs are monitoring the 21-year-old midfielder.
Benfica are rivaling AC Milan and Liverpool for the youngster ahead of the January market.
Fernández has a contract with Boca Juniors through the 2025 season.
Fernández, 21, has managed to make one assist in 43 appearances for Argentine giants Boca Juniors.
