Jürgen Klopp claimed Liverpool “lost the plot” in their shock Europa League quarter-final defeat by Atalanta.
“It was a really bad game, oh my God,” Klopp said after Liverpool’s first Anfield defeat in nearly 14 months. We played a bad game and we we deserved to lose. We must feel that now but we have exactly this night to feel bad about it and then we have to build up for (Crystal) Palace.”
Klopp looked dumbfounded at how his side collapsed leaving them needing a miracle in the quarter-final second leg next week. Liverpool once overturned a 3-0 deficit to beat Barcelona and reach the Champions League final in 2019.
“Can we win 3-0? I have no idea,” Klopp added.
