Emmanuel Macron hopes Kylian Mbappe will represent France at the Olympics this summer.

The number 1 PSG star also wants to attend the Olympics held in his hometown but admits that the decision belongs to the coach at the club.
“It was my coach who decided. I would be happy to participate in the Olympics, but if the coach doesn’t want to, I will support that decision. I don’t think it will take long to make a decision on this,” Mbappe said earlier.
According to French and Spanish media, Mbappe will leave PSG to join Real Madrid in the summer on a free transfer. But Los Blancos’ policy is that they will not release players to participate in the Olympics, especially players who have played in major tournaments immediately before.
Because the Olympics are not part of the FIFA system, clubs are not responsible for releasing players. However, French President Emmanuel Macron still hopes Real Madrid will allow Mbappe to attend the Paris Olympics. Speaking on RMC Sport, President Macron said: “We will do everything to have a competitive squad. I believe in French and European clubs, if I say that you will understand what I mean. We will have the EURO before the Olympics and that’s the problem. But I think the clubs have to play their role if they want to have a great tournament.”
Asked if he was talking about Real Madrid, Macron smiled wryly and said: “Exactly, that’s what I want. I haven’t talked to Mbappe about this yet, but I hope his club in particular and other clubs will allow it.”
